A: SBX Enigma™ is a supplied as a pre-configured appliance. Following installation, the SBX Appliance remains totally under the administrative and operational control of the customer.

Q: Can SBX Enigma™ communicate with the active directory of a host environment?

A: Yes. SBX Enigma™ has facilities that allow managed import of information from the active directory of a host environment using LDAP. Although users, organizational and role information can be imported, in order to maintain discrete authority over internal objects, SBX Enigma™ maintains a user object in its own security model.

Q: Does SBX Enigma™ have backup and recovery mechanisms?

A: Yes. SBX Enigma™ takes snapshots of persistent objects in memory and periodically (based on user specification) writes the objects to disk (time machine). Between snapshots, transaction events are also written out to disk. If the system fails and the server is rebooted, SBX Enigma™ loads up the most recent copy of memory.

Q: Can SBX Enigma™ assist in the management of SOA services?

A: Yes. SBX Enigma™ Metadata functionality facilitates the description of Enterprise standards and architectures, supporting Enterprise data and service access across multiple systems & types and enabling centralized administration of access to Enterprise data.

A: Yes. SBX Enigma™ provides a secure repository for security components such as encryption keys, thereby enabling such components to be separated from associated data environments and protected by SBX Enigma™ access security functionality. Utilizing SBX Enigma, encryption protections are greatly enhanced by the ability to deploy a more fine-grained approach to the use of encryption technologies, targeted to specific user populations on a need-to-know basis.

A: Yes. The SBX Enigma™ administrative framework is specifically designed to manage multiple unique Enterprises (organizations).
